Current Affiliation: Tsinghua University, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, Department of Chemical Engineering
Qian Weizhong once served as Chief Scientist of National Key R&D Program. His main research direction is low-carbon energy chemical engineering, including green reaction engineering technologies (C1 catalytic processes and Emerald Hydrogen production), as well as carbon nanomaterial fabrication and their applications in energy storage & environmental protection (supercapacitors reinforced by carbon materials and aluminum foam, lithium-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries, and carbon nano-adsorption VOCs & carbon sequestration near-zero carbon cycle systems).
His research team has published more than 180 academic papers, filed and granted over 240 Chinese invention patents. Six of their technologies have been appraised to reach international leading level, and multiple technologies have achieved industrialization. His research has won one national-level award and seven first prizes at provincial and ministerial levels.
